Still time to register for virtual Heart Walk

There is still time to register yourself or a team for the May 30 Heart Walk put on by the American Heart Association.

The Heart Walk is the association’s premier event in the community. This annual event celebrates heart and stroke survivors, promotes physical activity, heart-healthy living, and raises funds for research, advocacy and CPR training.

This year’s event will be held virtually on May 30 to embrace social distancing guidelines related to the novel coronavirus.

Participants are invited to get moving at home or in their neighborhood by wearing their favorite heart walk attire, going for a walk, eating a healthy meal, tackling an at-home workout or sharing how they’re living out their healthy at-home experience on social media using the #HeartWalkNE.

As of earlier this week, the UNMC/Nebraska Medicine community has 97 registered walkers and 19 teams. Find information on joining a UNMC/Nebraska Medicine team.
