Jeffrey P. Gold, M.D., chancellor of UNMC and the University of Nebraska at Omaha

Jeffrey P. Gold, M.D., chancellor of UNMC and the University of Nebraska at Omaha

Keeping up with the latest news, guidance and resources surrounding the national response to the spread of COVID-19 can be difficult, as each day brings new developments and even more questions.

As UNMC and University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) faculty and staff work to respond to the crisis, Chancellor Jeffrey P. Gold, M.D., is fielding questions from employees of both communities as they arise, and answering one new question daily on YouTube.

Faculty and staff can submit their questions to unmcevents@unmc.edu; please try to keep your questions as general as possible in order to help the largest number of employees.

Today’s question: Will it be safe for my kids to play baseball and softball this summer?

How long will staff that don't directly care for patients be required to wear masks while on campus? Since there is no vaccine, (and even when there is a vaccine, there will be those in the community that will choose not to be vaccinated), will we eventually be allowed to discontinue use of masks in non- patient areas (i.e. what needs to happen to do this).
