Drs. Rennard and Kalil team on an editorial in the journal CHEST

Stephen Rennard, M.D., a UNMC expert in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and Andre Kalil, M.D., a UNMC infectious disease physician who is heading the remdesivir study at UNMC, have co-authored an editorial titled “Chicken Soup in the Time of COVID,” in CHEST, the journal of the American College of Chest Physicians.

The editorial uses Dr. Rennard’s earlier study findings on chicken soup to make a point about scientifically proven and unproven therapies.

The editorial also includes co-author Richard Casaburi, M.D., a University of California Los Angeles professor.

SGS is the leading organization in the region aimed at bringing preventative and proactive measures into our communities to offset the negative implications of a society immersed in technologies with a lack of resources and education to safely manage them. SGS’s goal is to reduce digital-based anxieties, prevent peer and predator exploitation, and ensure online safety and privacy.
