Omaha, Lincoln, Council Bluffs and Ralston declared a state of emergency on Sunday, May 31, instituting a curfew.

In Omaha, the curfew runs from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. and will continue for 72 hours. According to the Omaha World-Herald, as of 7 p.m. Sunday night, Lincoln and Ralston had instituted an 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew, and Council Bluffs an 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. curfew, from Sunday evening to Monday morning.

The curfews do not apply to people traveling to or from work. All Nebraska Medicine and UNMC staff are advised to have their work ID badge with them when traveling to and from work.

Please be aware that there may be changes in traffic patterns and other related considerations for our faculty, staff, patients and others.

UNMC and Nebraska Medicine staff also are advised to monitor local news outlets in case the curfew orders are extended or other cities declare states of emergency.
