T-shirt provides reminder that masks save lives

Medical Center infectious disease experts, in chorus with public health officials, are working to spread the message that wearing a mask is an important way to prevent the spread of COVID-19. By wearing a mask, you protect those around you from asymptomatic or presymptomatic spread.

The Company Store wants to support that effort with this new T-shirt. It features a simple message of “I wear this mask for you” to remind people the mask you’re wearing is about their protection; it’s not meant to be a cultural or political statement. It’s a great option for both Nebraska Medicine and UNMC colleagues as it features the partnership logo on the back.

UNMC requires all students, faculty and staff to wear masks while on campus.

The Company Store remains online only for the time being. Remember, you can get free shipping to your campus ZIP code. Internet Explorer no longer supports the site, so please choose a different browser.

Payroll deduction is not offered for UNMC colleagues.

COVID-19 lecture series adds webinar on racial disparities

The COVID-19 lecture series has added a webinar on July 9 titled “Racial Disparities in COVID-19: A National Emergency.” The live webinar will be held from 1-2 p.m. At the conclusion of this webinar, the participant should be better able to:

  • Describe current racial and ethnic disparities emerging from the COVID-19 pandemic
  • Review the historic context and current situation leading to these disparities
  • Identify actions to address these disparities

See information on the July 9 webinar and the entire series.

Construction to impact Sorrell Center dock

Construction will begin July 7 on the Sorrell Center dock extension and impact access to the building’s east side. Completion is expected by Aug. 7.

During construction, students and faculty will need to access the building on the south side along Emile Street and not at the dock entrance. UNMC and Nebraska Medicine deliveries, as well as outside vendor deliveries, will need to be made through the pharmacy dock door, which requires card reader access.
