McGoogan Library Director Nancy Woelfl, Ph.D., appears in a READ poster. Stop by the library April 3-4 and appear in your own poster.

National Library Week, Change Your World @your library, takes place April 2 through April 8. The McGoogan Library of Medicine would like to recognize those at UNMC who regularly use the library and its resources to change their world. The campus community is invited to the following events:

April 3 until the end of April: Summer reading book sale
Are you looking for that next good “read” at bargain prices? Beginning April 3, the McGoogan Library of Medicine will host the annual Summer Reading Book Sale near the Circulation Desk on the sixth floor of Wittson Hall. Books of all types (fiction, children’s stories, mystery, western, romance, medical texts) will be available for a donation through the end of the month. All proceeds go to support the Fontenelle Elementary School Library Fund.

April 3 & 4: Make tour own READ poster

In observance of National Library Week, the McGoogan Library of Medicine is giving UNMC faculty, staff and students the opportunity to appear in their own READ poster. In these posters, celebrities often appear holding their favorite book.

The American Library Association provides the software for individuals to create their own posters. On Monday, April 3, and Tuesday, April 4, from noon to 2 p.m., faculty, staff and students may bring their favorite book to the library and have their photo taken.

Everyone who participates will be sent an 8 1/2″ x 11″ copy of their color poster along with a digital copy through e-mail. The library is on the sixth floor of Wittson Hall. For more information, contact Heather Brown at 559-7097 or hlbrown@unmc.edu.

April 5: Student cookie break

All UNMC students are invited for a free cookie and juice break at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, April 5, in the Linder Library Lounge on the sixth floor of Wittson Hall.
