Original artwork needed for Black History Month

The UNMC Black History Month Committee is seeking original art submissions from the UNMC community for this year’s Black History Month celebration.

“We are specifically looking for artwork to be centered around this year’s theme “The Past Is Our Foundation, the Present Is Our Strength and the Future Is Our Birthright,” said Channing Bunch, director of student life inclusion and diversity. “We know there are a lot of artistically talented individuals on campus and we would love to showcase their artwork.”

Artwork submitted will be showcased on social media and at the beginning of Black History Month events throughout the month-long celebration in February.

All artwork mediums are accepted. A photo of the artwork should be submitted and emailed to Kelsey Scroggin by Feb. 4. Those who submit artwork will receive a gift of appreciation. Questions also can be directed to Scroggin.
