Faculty, staff and students at UNMC and Nebraska Medicine are invited to learn more about the experiences and perspectives of colleagues in the Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) community during a May 5 panel discussion.

The online presentation, sponsored by the AAPI Inclusion Task Force, UNMC Office of Inclusion and Nebraska Medicine during AAPI Heritage Month, continues the med center’s conversation of diversity and inclusion. The panel discussion will be from noon to 1 p.m. via Zoom. Colleagues can register for the event on Engage.
Panelists include:
- Moderator: Howard Liu, MD, UNMC College of Medicine;
- Yun Saksena, DMD, UNMC College of Dentistry;
- Dejun Su, PhD, UNMC College of Public Health;
- Anna Cramer, JD, chief legal officer, Nebraska Medicine;
- Bo Chao, College of Dentistry student (not pictured); and
- Linda Huynh, College of Medicine student.
UNMC Chancellor Jeffrey P. Gold, MD, and Nebraska Medicine CEO James Linder, MD, will welcome participants and highlight both the importance of workforce diversity and the need to speak out against anti-Asian hate crimes. Sharon Ishii-Jordan, PhD, former associate dean of the Creighton University College of Arts and Sciences and a professor emerita of education at Creighton, will provide a brief presentation followed by the panel discussion and small breakout discussions.
