Dr. Trippier named to advisory board of national journal

Paul Trippier, PhD, associate professor of pharmaceutical sciences and director of the Pharmaceutical Sciences Graduate Program, has been named to the early career advisory board for the Journal of Medicinal Chemistry (JMC).

The journal announced that its new board “features over a dozen young researchers with a variety of expertise from across the globe.” Dr. Trippier works on using medicinal chemistry to make cancer therapies more effective, among other projects.

“The Journal of Medicinal Chemistry is the most prestigious in our field,” he said. “I am excited to play a small part in continuing this tradition and steering the journal forward. I see serving on the board as an opportunity to reach out to new talent in the field, bring them into the collection of amazing scientists who publish in the journal, and to increase collaborations.”

Registration open for Corporate Cycling Challenge

Registration is now open for the annual Corporate Cycling Challenge, to be held Sunday, Aug. 15.

The event will begin without a mass start and other precautions in place for COVID-19. All tours will begin and end at the Capitol District Plaza located at 11th and Capitol streets. Tour distances include 10-, 25- and 42-mile options.

Winners are based on the number of miles a team accumulates. The miles of family members of employees who participate count toward half of the team point total. The UNMC/Nebraska Medicine team has previously won in 2016, 2018, 2019 and 2020.

Interested participants can sign up to join the UNMC/Nebraska Medicine/UNO team through July 25th online.

Riders also can order a T-shirt with the appropriate campus logos on them. T-shirts are $10. Employees ride free unless they want a shirt and family members pay $5 without a shirt and $15 with a T-shirt. Proceeds benefit the Eastern Nebraska Trails Network.
