Dr. Gold congratulates new Cornhusker AD Alberts

UNMC Chancellor Jeffrey P. Gold, MD, who served as chancellor of the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) from May 2017 to June 2021, congratulated Trev Alberts, former UNO Vice Chancellor for Athletics, on being named the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s new director of athletics this week.

“Trev’s passion for excellence, which was so evident in his commitment to the success of the UNO athletic programs and their scholar-athletes, will serve the entire university well as he moves into this new role,” Dr. Gold said. “The University of Nebraska-Lincoln is fortunate to have him to lead their nationally recognized athletic programs.

“The UNO Mavericks will always hold a special place in my heart, but as a transplanted Nebraskan, I also root for the Cornhuskers, and I expect Trev to accomplish great things at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.”
