UNMC for the record

College of nursing faculty, student honored as nurse leaders

Two UNMC College of Nursing faculty members and a student recently received the 2021 "40 under 40 Nurse Leader Award" from the Nebraska Action Coalition. Kristin Dickinson and Maggie Emerson, assistant professors in the Omaha Division, and Abbey Klein, a PhD student, received the award.

The coalition instituted the award in 2012 following recognition as an Action Coalition by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, AARP and AARP Foundation’s Future of Nursing: Campaign for Action. The award recognizes the importance of honoring "up and coming" nurse leaders under the age of 40 who are making a difference in the areas of leadership, clinical expertise, academia, community involvement, research, policy engagement and innovation.

To date nearly 200 nurses across Nebraska have been honored.

Congratulations to Dr. Jay Moore on his well-deserved Lifetime Achievement Educator Award. He deserves another for the outstanding and compassionate care he gave patients over his lifetime as a clinician.
