Omaha City Councilman Don Rowe toured UNMC last week.

Rowe, who was elected in 2021, represents District 5. During his visit, he met with UNMC Chancellor Jeffrey P. Gold, MD, and other university leaders.

He later toured the Davis Global Center with Bob Bartee, vice chancellor for external affairs.

"This is an integral part of the city, a huge part when you talk about economic development, not to mention scientific research and health care training," Rowe said. "We have to do whatever we can to support UNMC’s efforts."

Rowe said his visit to the Davis Global Center, which included a look at state-of-the-art iEXCEL technology, was overwhelming.

"I can’t even pick one thing," he said with a laugh. "Maybe all the holographic technology. The tools you’ve developed here for health care education and research are phenomenal."
