John Reinhardt (far right), D.D.S, dean of UNMC’s College of Dentisty, was one of more than 50 people from the college to help with the Mission of Mercy event in Grand Island last month. More than 1,750 patients received approximately $650,000 worth of dental treatment at the Nebraska Dental Association’s Mission of Mercy event held last month in Grand Island.

More than 50 people from UNMC’s College of Dentistry — including some students — helped out with the event, which was held Sept. 22 and 23.

Jim Jenkins, D.D.S., assistant professor in the College of Dentistry, served as the statewide chairman for the Mission of Mercy event, which was designed to help underserved people get needed dental care.
