Finding UNMC policies

Do you know the UNMC campus policy about holiday leave? If not, do you know where to find this and other UNMC policies online?

As for holiday leave, UNMC employees get 12 paid holidays a year. UNMC recognizes seven traditional holidays during which non-essential business operations are closed for the day and five floating/banked holidays, which employees can use on their own.

To see the policy yourself go to the UNMC Today home page at info.unmc.edu and click the policies/procedures tab. After getting to the next screen, particular policies, such as holiday leave, can be found by scrolling down or by clicking the Policy Manual Topical Index for a list of all UNMC policies by topical section and number. (Click here for a PowerPoint presentation about finding UNMC policies.)

UNMC policies and procedures exist to serve the needs of all members of the organization and to serve the organization’s need to comply with various regulatory demands. UNMC policies exist because they are required, as policy, by a regulatory agency, commission or accrediting body; federal, state or local statute; Board of Regents or executive action; and campus-wide UNMC decision concerning everyone’s obligations and boundaries within the medical center.

For questions on UNMC policy submission or review processes, contact William Lawlor, director of financial controls and compliance, at 559-5838 or at wlawlor@unmc.edu.
