Preserving family photographs and heirlooms is vital if you want to be able to share those memories for generations to come.

Through the Passport Partners program, the Durham Western Heritage Museum is offering a workshop on basic techniques and products used in object preservation.

The class is open exclusively to employees and students of UNMC, The Nebraska Medical Center and UNMC Physicians and will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 13 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the museum’s Mezzanine Conference Room.

From important papers and photographs to 3-D artifacts, Durham Western Heritage Museum curator Luis Vasquez will demonstrate first-hand how to care for invaluable family treasures. Attendees are encouraged to bring a personal item to discuss during the workshop.

Seating is limited and will be available to the first 15 respondents. Please reserve your space today by sending an e-mail to Jill Carson at jlcarson@unmc.edu. This workshop is free to UNMC, UNMC Physicians and The Nebraska Medical Center employees and students.

The Durham Western Heritage Museum is located at 801 S. 10th St. Free admission for UNMC, UNMC Physicians and The Nebraska Medical Center employees, students, and their immediate families is available year-round with a valid identification badge.
