Honoring Dr. Prentice

UNMC leaders kicked off their Thursday by recognizing Ernest Prentice, Ph.D., associate vice chancellor for academic affairs, center, for serving a four-year term as chairman of the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Service’s Advisory Committee on Human Research Protection. Rubens Pamies, M.D., vice chancellor for academic affairs, left, and Chancellor Harold M. Maurer, M.D., each lauded Dr. Prentice for his service on the committee, which under his leadership carried out the most extensive review of human research protection policy since 1981. Dr. Prentice’s service on the committee was not only a testament to his status as an expert in human research policy but also an indicator of the quality of people working at UNMC, Dr. Maurer said.
