The 35th Annual Garden Walk will be Sunday, June 9, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. (rain or shine). Sponsored by the Munroe-Meyer Institute Guild at UNMC, proceeds will support MMI’s therapeutic, training, and research activities benefiting children, youth and adults with developmental disabilities and chronic handicapping conditions.
Advance tickets are $8. Tickets will be $10 on the day of the event at all gardens. Children under 12 are admitted free. Stroller access is limited.
A preview party will be June 7 at the Omaha Botanical Center’s Lauritzen Gardens, 2005 S. 10th St. A silent auction will begin at 6:30 p.m. Dinner will be served at 7:30 p.m. The cost is $65. Lindsay Huurman and Grace Overby are co-chairwomen of the Garden Walk.
Visitors will tour gardens at six locations. The homeowners are:

- Mr. and Mrs. Herman Myers, 9732 Fieldcrest Drive (Regency);
- Carol Underwood, 6106 William St. (Elmwood Park);

- Dr. and Mrs. Jerrad Hertzler, 3228 S. 101st St. (Glen Oaks);
- Mr. and Mrs. Eric Bottjen, 14107 Ames Ave. (Hillsborough).
These gardens feature special ideas in landscaping, planting, patios, ponds and gazebos. Nursery personnel will be available at most sites to answer questions. Refreshments will be available at various sites, as well as garden related vendors with special items to sell.
