Spotlight on new faculty — meet Kaleb Michaud, Ph.D.

Name: Kaleb Michaud, Ph.D.

Title: Assistant professor of medicine, rheumatology and immunology section, department of internal medicine

Duties: Take a lead role in the newly-formed Nebraska Arthritis Outcomes Research Center, which is a collaborative effort between rheumatology and orthopedics. Work closely with Dr. Ted Mikuls in expanding in size and analytical use of both the Rheumatoid Arthritis Investigational Network (RAIN) and VA (VARA) databases. Continue to conduct research with the National Data Bank for Rheumatic Diseases (NDB) and bridge this resource with collaborations from within the University of Nebraska.

Specialty Interests: Outcomes research in rheumatic diseases using modern epidemiological, econometric and biostatistical methods. Emphasis of research has been on techniques used in observational studies, cost-effectiveness analysis, and survival analyses.

Degree: Ph.D., Stanford University, Palo Alto, Calif.
