The South Omaha Community Care Council does invaluable work and UNMC Chancellor Harold M. Maurer, M.D. — for one — is proud the group is associated with the medical center. Dr. Maurer told the group as much during its monthly meeting March 21. “The South Omaha Community Care Council is doing a lot of good work in the community, I’d like to commend you for that,” Dr. Maurer said. Dr. Maurer noted UNMC’s involvement with the care council in working with high school students to increase their interest in the health professions, in particular nursing, and fielded questions from the audience. “I’m really proud of what the South Omaha Community Care Council does for the people in this community,” Dr. Maurer said. |
