A midtown block party and fireworks display is on tap Thursday for those still craving some holiday fun after Independence Day.
Destination Midtown will host its second annual Summer Block Party on Thursday, July 5 at Field Club School, 3512 Walnut St., from 4:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The party preceeds the Midtown Fireworks Show, which starts at 10 p.m. Admission to the block party is free.
This is the second year also for the fireworks show that is being hosted by Midtown Neighborhood Alliance. That show will be held at Field Club of Omaha, 3615 Woolworth Ave., and will be visable throughout the midtown area.
More than 10,000 people enjoyed the show last year and organizers say this year’s 20 minute display will be even better.
This year’s sponsors include UNMC, The Nebraska Medical Center, the City of Omaha, Security National Bank, Kiewit Construction, Field Club of Omaha, KPTM and the Midtown Business Association.
