Kyle Meyer, associate dean of the UNMC School of Allied Health Professions (SAHP), successfully defended his Ph.D. dissertation on Tuesday at the University of Nebraska at Omaha School of Public Administration.

“I am pleased to have attained this milestone, and I am very grateful for the support I received from the UNMC administration and my colleagues in SAHP,” Dr. Meyer said of completing his doctoral training.

College of Medicine Dean John Gollan, M.D., Ph.D., congratulated Dr. Meyer on his accomplishment.

“The degree simply adds evidence to what we’ve known around here for a long time, and that is that Kyle Meyer is an outstanding administrator,” Dr. Gollan said. “I’m delighted to now be able to call him Dr. Meyer.”

Dr. Meyer, who has been SAHP associate dean since Aug. 1 of last year, earned a physical therapy degree from UNMC in 1979, a master’s degree in anatomy from the medical center in 1985, and an MPA degree from UNO in 1994 prior to completing his Ph.D. in public administration.

Dr. Meyer’s wife, Deb, is a research coordinator in physical therapy education at UNMC. The Meyers have four sons.
