40th street to close Monday for utility work

EDITOR’S NOTE: The following is a note from UNMC Facilities Management.

Beginning Monday, 40th Street will be closed for three to four days for utility work. The street will be closed just south of Dewey Avenue.

Access to University Eye Clinic will be maintained but the parking on the west side of Lions Eye Bank will be blocked off.

The excavation will be backfilled and a temporary drive surface will be installed until approximately Aug. 15.

New steam and chilled water lines for the Sorrell Center will be installed after that date, which will close 40th Street again for one week.

Future notices will be published when final construction dates are determined.
