Area athletes, their coaches, trainers and parents now have access to immediate orthopaedic care through the Nebraska Sports Medicine Network’s direct referral line.
By calling the direct referral line at 552-6767, athletes will be seen the same day they call or as soon as possible.
The direct referral line will connect the person to the desired group and physician.
“This is a way to streamline orthopaedic care for sports medicine injuries,” said Cory Warner, manager of physicial therapy with UNMC’s hospital partner, The Nebraska Medical Center. “This provides the athlete prompt assessment and intervention and ultimately a quicker return to activities.”
