Public health among topics at upcoming agriculture conference

Trends in Midwestern agriculture, ergonomic interventions in California agriculture and USDA regulations. These are just a few of the topics that will be focused on at the 2007 Ag Conference to be held Nov. 14-16 in Omaha.

The conference will feature public and occupational health issues of three leading edge movements in U.S. agriculture — biofuels, food safety and alternative agriculture.

The conference will be held at the Embassy Suites-Downtown and will begin on Nov. 14 with a networking dinner, followed by a full day of seminars on Nov. 15 and tours of a cattle company and a biofuels operation in Mead, Neb., and the Soaring Wings Vineyard in Springfield, Neb.

Pre-registration is requested. The deadline to register is Nov. 5.

Persons interested in attending the conference can contact Beckie McCaw at (402) 559-9506 or log on to the Web site at www.unmc.edu/rhen and click on the 2007 Ag Conference link.
