Second-year medical students sponsor food bank’s pig

picture disc.If you think you see a pig sitting outside Wittson Hall or the University Tower cafeteria later this week and early next week, well you do.

Actually, it’s a giant piggy bank for collecting money for the Omaha Food Bank and will be on campus thanks to second-year medical students, who are “hosting the pig.”

The pig will be outside Wittson Hall from Friday through Sunday and outside the cafeteria all next week.

The pig has a slot on the top for monetary donations and blue bins also will be on site for people to donate perishable goods.

“We are hoping to get all faculty, staff and students involved,” said Katie Keefe, a philanthropy chairwoman for the second-year medical school class.
