DARPA Day rescheduled for Dec. 11

The DARPA Day event scheduled for Tuesday has been reset for Dec. 11.

More information about the event, which will feature a presentation Brett Giroir, M.D., director of the DARPA Defense Sciences Office, will be published soon.

DARPA stands for Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, which is the Department of Defense’s central research and development organization.

The event should prove useful to UNMC investigators because it will highlight funding alternatives in the face of decreased NIH funding, said Paula Turpen, Ph.D., UNMC’s director of research resources.

“It turns out the Department of Defense has quite a bit of money to spend on research,” Dr. Turpen said. “Many of our investigators might not know about the breadth of biomedical research areas funded by the DoD.”
