Campus information session to focus on Saddle Creek study

An informational session on the Saddle Creek Road relocation feasibility study will take place at noon on Monday, Nov. 19, in the Durham Research Center Auditorium.

Ken Hansen, assistant vice chancellor for business and finance at UNMC, and Ralph Batenhorst of HDR Engineering Inc., will present information about the feasibility study, which has looked at various options for relocating Saddle Creek Road near UNMC. They also will be available to answer audience members’ questions.

A public information meeting about the feasibility study will be held this evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Omaha Public Schools TAC Building cafeteria, 3215 Cuming St.

The overall goal of the feasibility study is to develop concepts to improve Saddle Creek Road by reducing congestion, improving safety, reducing roadway flooding and providing an area for future economic development.

The study area for the project is generally bounded by Cuming Street on the north, Center Street on the south, 42nd Street on the east and 52nd Street on the west.

Light refreshments will be provided at the session.
