Name: Susan Beidler, Ph.D.

Title: Associate professor in the UNMC Community-based Health Department and director of the Morehead Center for Nursing Practice.

Research interests: Outcomes of advanced practice models of care for vulnerable populations, elimination of health disparities, chronic disease management, bioethics and community-based participatory research.

Specialty: Primary health care, bioethics and advanced practice nursing.

Degrees: Ph.D., University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia.

Memberships: American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, American Nurses Association, Sigma Theta Tau International, American Society for Bioethics and Humanities, Southern Nursing Research Society, American Diabetes Association, American Association of Diabetes Educators, Council for Advancement of Nursing Science.

Previous positions: Assistant professor at Christine E. Lynn College of Nursing, Florida Atlantic University, Boca Raton, Fla.; director of West Gate Community Wellness Center in West Palm Beach, Fla.; clinical lecturer of School of Nursing, University of Pennsylvania; family nurse practitioner of Abbottsford Community Health Center, Philadelphia.
