Reminder — UNMC offices will be closed on Dec. 24

EDITOR’S NOTE: This is a repeat printing of an item that previously ran in UNMC Today.

Gov. David Heineman has announced that all Nebraska state government agencies will close on Monday, Dec. 24 in conjunction with President Bush’s federal government closing order. In order to implement the governor’s order at UNMC, Dec. 24 will be considered as a day of (paid) administrative leave for all holiday-eligible employees, and UNMC offices will be closed in observation of the governor’s directive.

Employees who are required to work on Dec. 24 will be paid for the time worked and also granted an additional day off, which may be carried-over for use in 2008. Questions may be referred to the UNMC payroll office at (402) 559-7460.

As previously communicated the campus will be open and operational on Monday, Dec 31. With appropriate consideration for departmental business requirements and anticipated workload, supervisory personnel are asked to be as flexible as circumstances permit in allowing employees to use vacation leave or a floating holiday on Dec. 31.
