Nurse, student recognized by the March of Dimes

Rita VanFleet, right, adjunct senior clinical associate at UNMC and chief nursing officer and vice president of patient care services at The Nebraska Medical Center, and fourth-year nursing student, Anne Schlautman, left, were honored during the fourth annual March of Dimes “Excellence in Nursing” awards ceremony in November.

During the ceremony, Van Fleet received the Distinguished Nurse Award.

Schlautman was one of four students from throughout Nebraska to be recognized as an outstanding senior nursing student.

Denise Lynes and Paula Miller, both nurses at The Nebraska Medical Center, were among the 25 Nebraska nurses to receive the Excellence in Nursing Awards.

Lynes also was recognized for excellence in pediatric nursing.
