Several spots remain open for Jan. 17 blood drive

Several spots are available for those who wish to donate blood during The Nebraska Medical Center’s blood drive on Thursday, Jan. 17 between 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. in Clarkson Tower’s Storz Pavilion.

Of the 102 available donation slots, only 39 had been filled as of Wednesday morning.

Medical facilities, including The Nebraska Medical Center, depend on donated blood to conduct surgeries, transfusions and other treatments.

“I’m really hoping we can get a good turnout for the drive,” said Kate Sullivan, a donor recruitment representative for the Midwest Region of the American Red Cross. “Donors can consider giving blood at this drive their New Year’s good deed.”
