American Red Cross Blood Drive Scheduled for July 9

Did you know that the American Red Cross Midwest Region needs to collect 500 units of blood every day to meet the needs of area patients? And just one pint of blood can save as many as three lives. The American Red Cross is asking you to help provide a lifeline to your community and neighbors by donating life-saving blood.

To make donating easy and convenient for NHS and UNMC employees, NHS is hosting an American Red Cross Blood Drive on Tuesday, July 9, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the lower Storz Pavilion. Individuals can donate blood every 56 days. Generally, UNMC and NHS both schedule two blood drives per year. These drives are scheduled at least 56 days apart at alternating locations, enabling employees to participate in all four drives per year.

Sign up today on the NHS Intranet, under the “What’s New” heading, or by calling the NHS Wellness Center at 2-2775. Or feel free to stop by Storz Pavilion between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on July 9.
