Each Thursday, we will randomly select a medical center employee to feature.
This week, we feature Fran Higgins, an administrative business operations associate in the School of Allied Health Professions. Here, in her own words, are five fun facts about Fran:

- I’m a singer/songwriter/musician (piano and guitar) with a solo CD called The Stuff of Dreams.
- I’m the “Poet Laureate of the School of Allied Health Professions.” I have a few published poems and am currently working on a memoir.
- I paint, mostly in watercolors, and a couple of my pieces appeared in the inaugural issue of the professional pearls booklet for students at UNMC.
- I’m a life-long learner, I received my BFA in creative writing in 2006 and am currently pursuing an advanced writers certificate at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. I love school!
- I have three children, am a new grandma (as of Feb. 6) and have been married to Greg Higgins in campus security for 23 years.
