Each Thursday, we will randomly select a medical center employee to feature.
This week, we feature Luann Andersen, executive administrator to Chancellor Harold M. Maurer, M.D. Here, in her own words, are some fun facts about Luann:

- I am a “farm girl” who was raised in Colon, Neb. (between Wahoo and Fremont).
- Animals are my therapy. From the newborn colts, lambs and other farm animals of my childhood to our current pug and two house cats — I’ve always found animals to be great listeners.
- I’m leaving my career of 30 plus years at UNMC in April to move to Houston to be near our two married children, their spouses and our grandchildren (ages 2 and 7 with a new grandbaby due the end of July).
- My hobbies are yard work, gardening, golf or about any outside activity in a warm/mild climate (I really dislike winter weather).
- Interaction with people and “being there” for those who need me are among the priorities of my life.
