Reduce, reuse, recyline emphasized in education trailer

Stop by the 53-foot-long semi-trailer on the medical center campus this week and learn more about environmental stewardship.

The Mobile Environmental Education Trailer (MEET) features helpful information about solid waste management, recycling, resource conservation and pollution prevention presented by the MEET mascot J.J.

J.J. is a 13-year-old raccoon, who appears in six short animated films guiding visitors through the trailer, which will be outside the Durham Research Center today through Wednesday, then move to the north side of the Student Life Center on Thursday and Friday. Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily.

The trailer also includes such attractions as 16 individual display panels, a 20-foot conveyor line that takes items out of a trash can and drops them into a recycling bin, and original artwork created by Artisan Creed of Lincoln.
