And now for something completely different … Juggling!

Well, those looking for something to do this weekend can toss this into their schedules — the 2008 Flatland Juggling Festival will be held starting today at the UNMC Center for Healthy Living.

The annual event is sponsored by the Omaha Juggling Club. The Omaha club, together with The Lincoln City Jugglers, make up an affiliate of the International Jugglers Association called “I Think It Rolled Under the Couch: A Nebraska Juggling Club.”

The event is free and open to the public. Anyone can come to just watch or juggle. If anyone wants to learn to juggle, they can learn at the festival.

The schedule is as follows:

Friday — Open juggling from 5 to 9 p.m. in the gym at the Center for Healthy Living.

Saturday — Open juggling from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the gym. At about 2 p.m., there will be juggling games in the gym. The games will include 5-ball endurance, 7-ball endurance, 5 and 7-club endurance, quarter juggling and 7-club passing.

Sunday — Brunch and open juggling from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the gym.

There also will be a free, public show on Saturday at 7 p.m. at North Side Christian Church, 5555 Larimore Ave., in Omaha.
