Aug. 9 golf tournament to benefit children with cancer

picture disc.The public is invited to participate in a golf tournament Aug. 9 that will benefit children with cancer. The tournament is sponsored by Camp Quality Heartland and will be held at Tara Hills Golf Course, 1410 Western Hills Drive in Papillion.

Camp Quality Heartland is an all-volunteer non-profit organization that provides free year-round support programs for children ages 3 to 18 with cancer, and their siblings. All programs are funded through private donations.

A number of faculty and staff from UNMC and The Nebraska Medical Center volunteer with Camp Quality.

Registration for the tournament will begin at 1 p.m. with a shotgun start. Cost for a four-person team is $240 and includes green fees, cart, dinner, pin prizes and flight prizes.

Four-person team and hole sponsorship is $305. Hole sponsorships are $65. Donations of cash or prizes also are accepted.

To register for the tournament, send check payable to Camp Quality Heartland by Aug. 1 to Camp Quality Heartland, c/o Laurie, 2024 N. 50th Street, Omaha, NE 68104.
