Center for Healthy Living services reduced for repairs

The Center for Healthy Living remains closed following a flood caused by a broken chiller pipe and many services including fitness classes and access to the weight equipment and racquetball courts will not be offered until further notice.

Tuesday the walking track, one basketball court and the locker rooms will be available for use. While the CFHL undergoes repairs, it will only be open from 5:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

UNMC will freeze CFHL memberships to compensate for the interruption of service, said Jayme Nekuda, UNMC director, Benefits and Work-Life Programs Division.

Also, Nekuda said, the University of Nebraska at Omaha has offered CFHL members access to its fitness facility for the next three weeks at a cost of $20.

Those interested in the UNO offer must contact the CFHL front desk at 559-5254, and their names will be passed on to UNO staff, Nekuda said. Members will need to show their UNMC ID badge and pay UNO officials at the time of their visit.
