Fitness equipment from the Center for Healthy Living sits idle on one of the center’s basketball courts as clean up begins following a flood in the facility caused by a broken chiller pipe. On Tuesday, the walking track, one basketball court and the locker rooms were made available for use. The rest of the center will remain off limits until repairs are completed. While the CFHL undergoes repairs, it will only be open from 5:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. In the wake of the flood, the University of Nebraska at Omaha has offered CFHL members access to its fitness facility until Aug. 24 — the day before classes begin — at a cost of $20. Please note that UNMC parking stickers will allow Center for Healthy Living members to park near the UNO fitness center. Those interested in the UNO offer must contact the CFHL front desk at 559-5254, and their names will be passed on to UNO staff.
