A warm send off for Sandy G.!

Staff members from across the UNMC campus gathered on Tuesday to say goodbye to Sandy Goetzinger-Comer, third from left.

Goetzinger-Comer, who served as director of UNMC public affairs for 12 years and most recently worked as senior associate director for new media, will retire from the medical center later this month after serving at UNMC for nearly 20 years.

But she won’t be sitting still — Goetzinger-Comer has accepted a position as public relations director of the Sisters of Mercy — an international group of Catholic women who have dedicated their lives to serving the sick, poor and uneducated.

Pictured with Goetzinger-Comer are, from left, Jill Carson, Vicky Cerino, Lisa Spellman, Ann Kraft and Elizabeth Kumru.

Carson, Cerino, Spellman and Kumru are all of UNMC public affairs. Kraft also worked in the department under Goetzinger-Comer before she became a program associate for the Rural Health Education Network.
