A preview of the Opera Omaha production of “The Pirates of Penzance” will be held today at noon in the Durham Research Center Auditorium.
UNMC faculty, staff and students are invited to bring their lunches and join the Pirate King, the Major General and a more from “The Pirate Band” for the presentation, which also will feature select musical numbers from the opera.
A question-and-answer session will follow with members of the cast and Opera Omaha’s executive director, John Wehrle.
Reduced-fare tickets, including $5 tickets in the balcony, still are available to the production, which will be performed on Oct. 15, 17 and 19 at the Orpheum Theater. A pre-performance get-together with light refreshments, exclusive to those with ties to UNMC, will take place before the 2 p.m. performance on Sunday, Oct. 19, beginning at 1:15 p.m.
