Lookin’ at U — Kacie Gerard

That’s the theme behind a series in UNMC Today called “Lookin’ at U.”

Each Thursday, we will randomly select a medical center employee or student to feature.

This week, we feature Kacie Gerard, special events associate in the department of public affairs.

Here, in her own words, are five fun facts about Kacie.

• The NBA paid for my college since my dad is a retired player.

• My fiance Matt and I have two “children.” Beeps is a fawn pug and Mable is a black pug.

• While in a college journalism class I started to cry because they made me write an obituary for Jim Henson, creator of the Muppets. That was my favorite show when I was little and I even got to see the Muppets studio in New York – it obviously still effected me years later!

• If I were to compete in the Miss America Pageant, my talent would be playing ‘Dream on’ by Aerosmith on the drums (which is the only song I know how to play on the drums).

• My favorite place to eat in Omaha is Rivera’s Mexican Restaurant.
