Thursday’s Music as Medicine to feature chamber music

Here is a schedule of the remaing performers for the 2008-2009 Music as Medicine series:

The Omaha Chamber Music Society will feature flutist Maria Harding, cellist Paul Lewdon and pianist John Bennett at Thursday’s Music as Medicine concert.

The concert will be held at noon in the Durham Outpatient Center West Atrium.

Harding currently is the principal flutist of the Omaha Symphony. As a soloist, she has won first prize in prestigious competitions sponsored by the National Flute Association, the Richardson (Texas) Symphony Orchestra, the McCarty Artists’ Competition and the Texas Flute Society.

Lewdon is principal cellist of the Omaha Symphony. He studied in Germany and Finland and received his artist’s diploma from Hochschule fuer Musik in Karlsruhe, Germany with the highest possible marks.

Bennett is the executive director of the Omaha Chamber Music Society. He most recently served as Chorus Master for Opera Omaha. He is the resident pianist for the Omaha Chamber Singers, Bel Canto, and is on the music staff at Omaha’s Central High School as well as Countryside Community Church.
