David Carver, Ph.D., director of counseling and student development at UNMC, has been elected chairman of the Nebraska Board of Psychology, the state licensing board that regulates the psychology profession.

The seven-member board gives written and oral ethics and jurisprudence exams to all new candidates for licensure, reviews complaints against psychologists, makes disciplinary recommendations and regularly updates psychology regulations. The overriding mission of the board is to protect the public from unethical practices.

“One of my major goals is to collaborate with the other mental health professions and state regulatory agencies to improve access to behavioral health services for children and adults in Nebraska.”
