UNMC Professor, Ann Berger, Ph.D., will present the 2009 Oncology Nursing Society State-of-the-Science Lecture, on Feb. 13, during the 10th National Conference on Cancer Nursing Research in Orlando.

Dr. Berger, the Dorothy Hodges Olson Endowed Chair in Nursing, and an advanced practice nurse, will talk about reducing negative health outcomes of sleep and wake disturbances in people with cancer.

“My work is dedicated to assisting patients with cancer and their families by improving symptoms during treatment and survivorship,” Dr. Berger said. “This lecture provides me with a unique opportunity to inform others about the need for regular screening, follow-up assessment, and effective treatment of sleep-wake disturbances in patients and caregivers.”
