Printing services wins four awards

UNMC Printing Services won four awards in the 2009 Heartland Print Gallery, which was held Saturday at the Embassy Suites in the Old Market.

The awards ceremony was held in conjunction with National Print Week, which is celebrated the week of Jan. 12-18.

“The staff at printing services is very pleased with the quality of work that we produce and we’re proud to have won these awards,” said Lori Fuller, manager of printing services. “These awards really belong to our clients for the wonderful and creative work that they present us.”

In a proclamation commemorating National Print Week, Gov. Dave Heineman wrote: “Printing impacts and facilitates education, science, medicine, religion, government, commerce, industry and virtually every field of human endeavor; and … 305 printing establishments exist and 8,289 Nebraskans are employed in the printing industry, making it the third largest segment of the state’s manufacturing industry as well as one of the fastest growing employment fields in Nebraska.”

UNMC Printing Services won two gold awards and two silver awards. The gold awards were for an invitation they created for Chancellor Harold M. Maurer, M.D., and a postcard the unit produced for the University of Nebraska at Omaha’s Maverick MOJO promotion.

The silver awards were for two-color envelopes produced for the Ambassador of Hope Gala and for the UNO August Commencement program.
