Faculty and staff to receive summary of annual compensation

(EDITOR’S NOTE: The following story was contributed by UNMC Human Resources.)Each benefits eligible UNMC faculty and staff members will soon receive a report that summarizes his or her pay and benefits for 2008.

The individualized “Annual Statement of Earnings and Benefits,” which will be delivered in a pressure sealed envelope identical to employees’ regular payroll advice form, is intended to help employees understand their total compensation package.

“This report is a great way to improve employees’ understanding of their compensation,” said John Russell, assistant vice chancellor for human resources.

Each employee’s report will include his or her annual pay for 2008, and annual university and employee contributions toward each benefit in which the employee was enrolled in 2008.

Employer and employee retirement contributions made in 2008 are also displayed on the report.

“Our faculty and staff have found this report to be informative and useful,” Russell said.

Employees can expect to receive the report in January or February each year. In addition, the report will be available through UNMC ESS.

Questions about the report should be directed to Mary Jane Zeini at 559-5875.
