UNMC Physicians is celebrating the opening of its new surgery center and medspa with several events this week including an open house on Thursday from 3 to 6 p.m.

UNMC Physicians, the physician practice group for UNMC, will open its new Village Pointe Aesthetic Surgery and Dreams MedSpa in west Omaha this week.

This state-of-the-art facility houses the only medspa in Omaha that is operated by three board-certified plastic surgeons. The UNMC Physicians’ facility will provide patients with the highest level of comprehensive plastic and reconstructive surgical care.

Village Pointe Aesthetic Surgery and Dreams MedSpa also is the only medspa in the area that has fully operational surgical rooms under the same roof.

“The marriage of the medspa and aesthetic surgery center allows us to provide the very best care for all the needs of our patients,” said Perry Johnson, M.D., associate professor of plastic and reconstructive surgery at UNMC and a plastic surgeon at Village Pointe Aesthetic Surgery. “The comfortable, convenient facility and the expertise of our physicians and staff gives our patients peace of mind knowing that all their needs can be taken care of in one location.”

With physician supervision, Dreams Medspa is able to offer Omaha more procedures and treatments than other medspas in the area.

“We are able to give patients a more concentrated grade of medical resurfacing peel,” said Marilyn Matyja, licensed esthetician. “Thermage, a non-surgical skin tightening treatment, as well as certain lines of skin care products are also examples of things not available in a non-physician supervised MedSpa.”

UNMC Physicians will celebrate the grand opening of Village Pointe Aesthetic Surgery and Dreams MedSpa this week with several events including an open house on Thursday, Feb. 12 from 3 to 6 p.m.

“We are excited to offer a state-of-the-art facility that provides our patients with the highest level of comprehensive plastic and reconstructive surgical care, including both surgical and non-surgical treatments as well as medspa services,” Dr. Johnson said.

The new facility has seven exam rooms, two operating rooms and five medspa rooms.
