Noon jazz performance part of Black History Month Celebration

Master flutist Galen Abdur-Razzaq will present a performance titled “Notes at Noon” today in the Eppley Science Hall Amphitheater as part of The UNMC Diversity Lectures and Cultural Arts Series celebration of Black History Month.

Abdur-Razzaq — known onstage simply as Galen – will present a performance titled “Notes at Noon” in the Eppley Science Hall Amphitheater.

Galen is widely known and respected as an arranger, composer, director and educator who has performed and recorded with some of the world’s greatest musicians.

He has shared the stage with world-renowned artists such as Billy Taylor, Melba Moore, Sun Ra, John Patton and many others. Galen will present a lecture/jazz performance that will take the audience through the history of jazz.

Lunch will be provided to the first 40 attendees.
