If you missed it in 2008, you’ve got another chance!

The Durham Museum once again offers medical center employees a special workshop titled, “Preservation Explained.”

Join museum curator, Carrie Wieners on Tuesday, March 10 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. as she explains what goes on behind the scenes in a museum collection.

Participants will take an active hand in re-housing museum collection pieces and learn valuable tricks that can help them better store and preserve their personal family treasures.

Questions are welcome and participants are encouraged to bring their own collection pieces (maximum of two) for one-on-one consultations as to how best to care for them (no materials will be provided for the objects, just consultation only).

Space is limited to 15 participants, so reserve your spot today by contacting Jill Carson at jlcarson@unmc.edu. The workshop will take place at the museum at 801 S. 10th St.

This workshop is offered through the Time Travelers partnership, which provides free museum admission for medical center employees, students, and their immediate family with a valid identification badge, while also offering lectures, workshops and other events on the medical center campus.
